What is Lean Six Sigma?
Lean Six Sigma is a data-driven process improvement philosophy which focuses upon the elimination  of  errors in products and service   while reducing the inventory and non-value.
The term “Sigma” itself is a measure of variation hence a Six Sigma process results in 3.4 parts per million (PPM) errors, a virtually error-free process. Lean manufacturing, introduced by Toyota, combined with the power of Six Sigma started expanding into all sizes of companies in a great variety of industries and services around the world.

What is DFSS?
D
esign for Six Sigma is the most empowering tool for new product and process design to ensure that resulting product /process meets Six Sigma goals of virtually defect free.

DFSS could also be used as a result of a Six Sigma project which ended because Six Sigma improvement process was not suitable to overcome fundamental design issues. Many companies today take advantage of DFSS to design new products hence eliminating errors in products and service delivery before customers see them.
